Alice brings complementary skills to the firm. She holds a combination Food Science/Plant Science MSc. and an MBA in marketing. She managed the technical service function for a flavour and food ingredient company, designing product prototypes and travelling to food companies across Canada to offer hands-on technical assistance. She then took the position of Director for a pharmaceutical trade association, editing and co-authoring a brief to the Royal Commission on Pharmaceutical Pricing and Practices.
Alice was with OMAFRA for five years as an Export Marketing Specialist. She advised food companies on opportunities abroad, heading up trade missions and food company involvement in trade shows across the U.S. and the Caribbean. She has taught at three community colleges and guest lectured at two universities. She was also a free-lance consultant to food companies to prepare marketing and business plans. Currently, she is a member of the CIFST Scientific Expert Panel for Nutrition and Functional Foods.
Recently, Alice has launched an affiliated business, The Food-Tech Writer. The goal of this company is to prepare marketing and business communications based upon a client’s technical materials. Examples include internal manuals, product info sheets, power point presentations, white papers, and marketing/promotional materials.
